WASS has developed a complete family of lightweight, hull mounted and variable depth sonar systems, optimized for Mines and Objects Avoidance, the SNA 2000/I. This innovative sonar, which features high frequency of operation and very low target strength (small stationary objects) detection capability, can be installed either in the bow dome of large ships, together with the main sonar or stand alone, or under the keel of Fast Attack Crafts or Patrol Boats, as navigational aid.
With the addition of a variable depth, transportable and low cost acoustic array, the SNA 2000/I becomes the ATDS, Asymmetric Threat Detection Sonar, capable of reliable detection of small delivery vehicles and divers for the protection of anchored or moored surface ships.
In the recent years, a special attention has been given to underwater surveillance systems to prevent terrorists / intruders actions against sensitive objectives like Harbours, Coastlines, Oil platforms, Strategic sites.
The result of these efforts is a sophisticated integrated system with maximum flexibility and reliability, the PARIDE, Protection Antiterrorism Reliability Integrated Defence Equipment, which provides three different acoustic protection layers.
